EX INDIAN RIVER COUNTY ATTORNEY ALAN POLACKWICH NAMED IN STATE ETHICS COMPLAINT

Shadow Dealing Starring Alan Polackwich

George Maib of Ocean Concrete Inc. files a complaint with the Department of Ethics.

Mr. Maib alleges that former Indian River County Attorney, Alan Polackwich, failed to hire outside counsel through proper channels required by Florida Sunshine Laws. He is also asking if, in the hiring of an outside law firm, Alan Polackwich worked with them to defend the County from a suit brought by Maib and followed the steps required by the Sunshine Law.

After changing zoning laws and causing Mr. Maib's loss of property, Polackwich also tried to purchase Mr. Maib's rights to sue the County for just compensation for the loss of 31 uses for his property.

Ethics Complaint Filed against Joe Baird Indian River County Administrator

Today George Maib of Ocean Concrete Inc. filed a formal complaint with the Florida State Department of Ethics. 

George alleges that the County Administrator Joe Baird has violated the public trust and has thrown the Indian River County citizens under the bus by not contacting or filing a claim with the County's insurance carrier.
